1858 LEDGER BOOK
Come visit the Cordova Museum to see the 1858 store ledger
book from the town of Marysville, now known as Cordova. The book covers the years 1858 to 1862. Early setters purchased things on credit
until their crops were harvested. That
meant some had balances up to a year.
Come see if you can find an ancestor's name in the book and see what
items he (or she) purchased. The 512
page book has been indexed, and each page of the ledger photographed and then
placed on a CD. The CD allows one to
zoom in on the beautifully written "copperplate" script. Take this CD home with a $15 donation to the
museum.
